There’s always something going on in Seattle, no matter what day of the week it is. It’s because there’s enough people in this town trying to create something out of sheer passion. And when you find and follow this city’s passionate people, you won’t ever have to ask yourself, what else does this city have to offer? That’s what brought me to a downtown rooftop this evening where a handful of local emcees came together to freestyle for Cypher Mondays, a weekly gathering that has been going on for a few months now.
Those that come just a few minutes late miss the show. Cypher Mondays isn’t a evening long event. It last for no more than a half hour or as fast as a quick take for the camera. Once recorded, it’s in the books, history is made, and the cypher is uploaded online for the world to witness. Anyone can participate and this season the team’s gonna combine Seattle’s talent with other Seattle offerings (like great downtown rooftop views).
