Our girl Casey Carter has been doing her thing for a minute now. What started out as a simple posts about what she was eating, wearing, and listening to, morphed into one of the top blogs in the area for discovering underground local hip hop/rap artists. We know she’s been working hard, putting herself out there, educating herself about who’s out there, and putting the NW on blast. One of the many things to appreciate about homies like Casey is that she’s making friends with the folks she’s talking about on her blog, MissCaseyCarter.com. It’s this transparency that sets bloggers apart from mainstream music writers. Peeps like Casey don’t always necessarily have to write about the biggest names in the industry, so the content stays original and the conversation stays real.
So don’t it it twisted when it comes to Casey Carter, she’s not a writer sitting behind a laptop all day filtering pitches from artists and publicist. She’s always down to meet up and chop it up. You don’t have to go through other people to get to her. She doesn’t need the big name interview to drive traffic to her site. She’s kickin’ it and trying to figure this out just like the rest of us.
That’s my girl, Miss Casey Carter. And she throws a kick-ass show, if you’re in the know.
